Gaziantep - Turkey

The city is located in the south-eastern region of Turkey and has approximately 1.3 million inhabitants. Gaziantep is well known as an upcoming business and education community. Özel Seckin Ortaokulu school is a private school which mostly serves pupils from well educated and rather wealthy parents. Nevertheless, ten percent of the pupils do have a disadvantaged background. This school was the coordinating institution during the project.

Lubon - Poland

Lubon is situated very closely to the city of Poznan in the region of Wielkopolska with about thirty thousand inhabitants. Szkola Podstawowa nr 2 im. Augusta hr. Cieszkowskiego w Luboniu is a public school and tries to integrate pupils with special needs. Environmental education is a very important topic for the school and the community. They are participating in an EU-Comenius project for the second time.

Magura - Romania

Scoala cu cls. I-VIII is located in Magura, a village of more than 2000 inhabitants in the county of Buzau, which is very close to the Carpathian Mountains. In this region, many pupils come from disadvantaged families who struggle to support their children with the basics, like school supplies. The public school is well experienced in addressing environmental issues.

La Cruz Santa - Spain

Located in the northern part of Tenerife Island, La Cruz Santa has more than 3500 inhabitants. Most of the pupils have an underprivileged background. LES Cruz Santa tries to compensate for this disadvantage, which has increased due to the economic crisis. Environmental topics are very well known to this public school, because the pupils are used to measuring data in the science network "Globe".

Torgau - Germany

The city of Torgau, with its twenty thousand inhabitants, is located in the north-western region of Saxony. In respect to Martin Luther and the Second World War, it played an important role in history. The public Mittelschule Nordwest Torgau has a lot of experience with international projects. Nowadays, the region does not have enough industry to offer jobs for everyone. For this reason, many pupils live in disadvantaged conditions.

Vienna - Austria

The capital city of Austria, with approximately 1.8 million inhabitants, is the home of the catholic private school St. Marien. According to the founder of its female order, the pupils, especially from poor families, should be supported. The school has a lot of experience with various projects. Terra nostra @ our earth is its second EU-Comenius project.

Znojmo - Czech Republic

Close to the Austrian border lies the city of Znojmo, with approximately thirty-six thousand inhabitants. Due to its geographical situation, the public school offers German as well as English lessons. The whole region cooperates with Austrian communities. Additionally, the school offers a lot of special study programs and is in its second EU-Comenius project.

Projektaktivitäten (Berichte & Bilder)


Terra Nostra @ Our Earth

In den zwei Schuljahren – 2011 bis 2013 – nahm unsere Schule am EU-Projekt "Terra Nostra @ Our Earth" teil.

Vom 21.9.-26.9. fand das Projekttreffen der sieben beteiligten LänderÖsterreich, Tschechien, Polen, Spanien, Deutschland, Rumänien und Türkei - auf Teneriffa, Spanien statt (siehe Bildergalerie am Ende des Artikels).

Das Projekt bezieht sich auf die große Problematik der globalen Erwärmung und der daraus entstehenden Folgen.



Inhalte & Projektschwerpunkte

  • Erlernen eines Theaterstückes "Noah's spaceship" in englischer Sprache
  • Errichtung eines Blogs zur Kommunikation aller beteiligten SchülerInnen
  • Konzeption eines Flugblattes und Folders "Gefährdete Tierarten"
  • Beobachtung zu Wetter und Niederschlägen der beteiligten Länder sowie grafische Darstellungen
  • Fahrradaktion
  • Luftballonaktion

Das nächste Projekttreffen findet in Wien im Jänner 2012 statt. Alle beteiligten Schulen werden mit je 2 LehrerInnen und 2-3 SchülerInnen nach Österreich kommen und mit unseren SchülerInnen gemeinsam zum Projektthema arbeiten.
